THE CAR TESTING SCHEME.
It is gratifying to see that someone lias undertaken to protest against the A.C.C. and the car-testing plant scheme. Surely the City Council has its hands, full at present without dabbling into the car testing business, after seeing the jam in getting the driving licenses. What will it be in car testing? Say, 00 cars per working hour? As many workers to-day possess a car of some kind, how ore they going to get them tested? Is the council considering cost of the man getting leave from his business and waiting goodness knows how many weary hours? \\ hat's wrons with the present system? Cannot the authorities trust the garage owners? Personally I am satisfied with the present system, so are many others. For instance, if an owner was told his windscreen wiper was faulty he can got it fixed at the siira-re where he is being tested, but under the City Council testing he would get it fixed and probably have to so back to wait a few more hours to get another test. I would like to know what the members of the A.A. think about this scheme. WINDSCREEN".
