NEW SPECIFICATIONS,
AID GIVEX TO OWNERS,
Midget car racing has firmly established itself in Xew Zealand, and in various centres of the North Island racing tracks for the coming season are planned. With the experience pained from the American cars and drivers that came last summer, the New Zealandbuilt cars should show a considerable improvement.
Enthusiasts who are constructing new cars this winter are fortunate in having two American machines, which were left here last season, as models.
It is reported that in order to stimulate the building of new midget cars the promoters of the sport are willing to assist owners constructing newmachines up to about one-third of the cost, or about £10.
'Sew regulations have also been made governing the eize of to be allowed in midget cars in the coming eeason: They «re as follows: Flit-bead motor, tip to 200 cubic inches; overhead valve motor (ex'cept Chevrolet 4-cvlinder with standard head), up to 135 cubic inches; overhead camshaft motor, up to 100 cubic inches.
The 4-crlinder Chevrolet engine with its standard overhead valve is allowed aft a midget motor.
