POTATOES SELL FREELY. POLLARD ALSO IN DEMAND. Since last report there lias been steady trade 011 the local grain and produce markets, with quotations unaltered ill most instance*. Australian pollard enjoys a ready sale at late rates. Spot stocks | are fairly light, but a fresh shipment Is expected .at the beginning ot next week. The Australian market is steady with onli minor fluctuations, and merchants are obtaining regular supplies without much difficulty. Limited supplies are available from the local mills at lower prices. Bran from the local mills sells steadily at £6 15/ per ton, ex-store, and at a cheaper rate ex the mills. The market is well supplied with southern potatoes. The quality is excellent and the demand brisk, with no change in pi ices. Fresh business 011 the part ot local merchants in the southern crop lis almost at a standstill, as both buyers and sellers are awaiting details oi the assurance given by the Hon. .Mr. Xash that ail outlet would be found ioV the Canterbury surplus. The onion market is still supplied from Pukekohe, with values firm at 15/ per cwt. Despite the advent of colder weather the demand for horse feed is comparatively small. Both chafl and oats are unaltered in price. Supplies of Australian wheat and barley are still soiling freely. Merchants are finding a difficulty in obtaining any old season's maize from the Hay of Plenty, but Gisborne dealers are still fulfilling orders. I uless particularly unsuitable weather intervenes it seems likely that the new crop irom the Hay ot Plenty wiil lie available earlier than usual.
