FORWARDS DROPPED
WEBB AND LOCKINGTON,
1 FAILED TO ATTEND PRACTICE. Disciplinary measures have been taken by the Auckland Rugby selector, Mr. F. W. Lucas, with two of the Auckland Rugby forwards who failed to attend the final practico last niglit prior to the selection of the team to play Waikato at Eden Park on Saturday, a return match. Webb and Lockington have been dropped and have been replaced by Whillans (Xortli Shore) and Pepper (Manukau).
11l the scrum Carson, who played in the back row Kind in the front row in the second half) at Hamilton, has been moved to his usual position of lock. Pepper replaces Pearce in the front row, Pearcc going ifito the back row. Whillans will play on the flank of the second row.
Otherwise the team remains the same as that which defeated Waikato on the King's birthday by 29 points to 3. The team is:— Full-back: D. Solomon (Ponsonby). Three-quarters: D. Martin ('Varsity), A. Prentice (Grafton), J. Dick (Grafton). Five-eighths: D. Brady (Suburbs), X. Pearman (Grafton).
Half-back: F. Coonev (Marist). Forwards: Front row, A. Brown (Grammar), H. Bond (Poiisonbv), C. Pepper (Manukau); middle row, H. F. McLean (Grafton), R. Hull (Grafton), W. Carson (Ponsonby), Wliillans (Xortli Shore); back row, T. Pearce (Manukau). Match at Thames. The team to represent Auckland at the Thames is as follows:—Full-back, Hare (Marist); three-quarters, Schubert (Marist), Finlayson (Grammar), Spitt.il (Grammar); five-eighths, Donaldson (Ponsonby), Slyficld (North.
