"Was she hostile?'' counsel {Mr. Slipper) asked witness who served notice on Claire Emma Shepherd, respondent in a divorce action on the grounds of desertion. W itneras: No. She wa« very friendly about it. Counsel: What did she sav? Witness: She said, "Thank goodness!" The action was brought by Richard Alfred Wood Shepherd, for whom Mr. Slipper appeared. His Honor, Mr. Justice Callan. granted a decree nisi.
