' ; ' CHRISTCHURCH, this -day. ; Apart from further quick fluctuation in .Taranaki Oilfields "which jumped 1/, to •13/1, markets on Exchange were dull this morning. In the hanking section chief interest lay in Nationals of New Zealand, with a wide market from £2 13/3 to £2 IG/, and in* New Zealands, which were quoted between £2 3/G and £2 4/3. Australian issues were almost.unchanged from last week. Loan and agencies were quiet, New Zealand Guarantees having reported business at 4/5. Permanent Investments maintained the improvement shown recently, the market standing between £9 15/ and £10 7/6. Steady offers held for WestportStockton, Christchurch Gas and New Zealand Breweries. Hays, Ltd. (35/ paid) were wanted at 16/10, but no sellers were quoting. • G. J. Coles rose a fraction, and closed with buyers at £4 2/, but in the Woolworths group Propci'ties (rights) relapsed 2d, to 3/8, and finished with more sellers Id higher. Metals were fairly steady, though Morgans were affected.by Sydney legal proceedings, in which the managing director is involved, slipped to 8/4.
