OIL SHARES ACTIVE. TARANAKIS AT 13/3. ROBIXSOXS ICE FIRM.' Oil. shares again : contributed the:'- onlyelement of liveliness when the Auckland Stock Exchange met this, morning for tlie first call of the week. Sales commenced at 12/3 and finished "at 13/, . after which the market rested between 12/7 and 13/6, more than recovering. from" Saturday's easier trend. Moturoas were'. in demand at-5/, with no "sellers.'. : . There was a slight easing in Woolwofths rights,' which sold Id' lower, at 3/9, with more ' available at that price. The market reacted favourably to the recent accounts issued by Robinsons Ice Cream, and the shares sold 9d up, at £1 . 4/3, the highest .point for the last two years. - v : . In the banking section Nationals were firmer, with a market between £2 13/ and £2 14/, and New Zealands were quoted ex dividend, with buyers at £2 3/6 and sellers 3d higher. Taupiri Coals were weaker, with sellers; at 15/3, and no buyers. The breweries were • very dull, there being no inquiries in the class. Government .stocks opened the week quietly. Farmers' Trading Firmer. •' Business was almost •at a standstill at the noon; call, two New Zealand issues— Taranaki "Oil and'.: Farmers' Tradingattracting most attention. Tile oil shares continued rising, gaining, another -3d ;aii'd. having further .buyers at. the sale price.
