ATTRACTIVE STALLS.
SUCCESSFUL BABY SHOW.
Further funds for the Sunshine School were yesterday realised when the sale of work by the Women's Auxiliary of the Community Sunshine Association was held in the Concert Chamber. A practical demonstration of appreciation was shown by the quick, sales that were recorded and the heavy demands of the purchasers were noticeable in the early afternoon.
The Mayoress, Lady Davis, who was introduced by Sir George Richardson, declared the bazaar open, and encouraged all present to buy. Mrs. J. B. McKendrick presented Lady Davis with a bouquet. Another popular feature was the evening entertainment, which wab arranged by Mrs. C. D. Simpson.
Those responsible for the successful organisation included Mrs. Eliot Davis and Mrs. A. Blomfleld. Mrs. A. A. Kavaye was the and the conveners of the stalls were:* Mrs. G. Marsh, produce; Mrs. G. Kerr, sweets; Mrs. E. J. Sexton, cabbage patch; Mrs. W. C. Salmon, orange tree; Mrs. E. R. Naughton, flowers; Mrs. Corrie Whyte, novelties; Mrs. W. Bright and Mrs. W. F. Allen, fancy work; Mrs. H. Burton and Mrs. S. Simpson, books; Mrs. G. Kerr, cakes; Mre. G. A. Downie, tearooms; Mre. G. McCook, baby show.
Nurse Vickerman and Nurse Atkinson were the judges of the baby show, and the successful babies were: Up to three months, Pamela Shanks; three to six months, Joy Makoviua 1. Mary Jones 2: six to twelve month, Barrie E»pie 1. Maureen Farrell 2; twelve to eighteen month, Valerie Newman 1, Dale Knolan 2, eighteen months to two years, Eileen DarUeoß.
