THIRTEEN A SIDE.

TO-MORROWS GAMES.

MARIST TACKLES NEWTON.

PONSONBY PLAYS MANUKAU

The principal attraction at Carlaw Park to-morrow- will be the meeting of the Newton and Marist teams in the Auckland Rugby League's senior championship. Newton is the leading team in the competition, and all through the season has played bright and open football. Marist will put a good all-round team in the field, and can be relied upon to give a good exhibition. Last Saturday Newton defeated North Shore by a single point and Marist defeated Poneonbv.

Manukau and Ponsonby will meet in the earlier fixture on the No. 1 ground, and an open game is promised, as both have back divisions which can combine well.

Mount Albert will play Papakura on the No. 2 ground. The match should have added interest in view of the fact that last Saturday Papakura registered the club's first win for the season bydefeating a strong Manukau side. The early match on No. 2 ground will be between Richmond and City. On form Richmond (1937 champions) should win, but the City team has been considerably reinforced of late.
