SEQUEL TO CONVERSION". At present serving a sentence of three months' imprisonment for theft of money from a trawler in Auckland. Gordon Robert Edward*, a labourer, aged 22. was brought down to the Police Court to-day, when he admitted a charge of unlawfully converting to his own use. at Horotiu. on March 21, a motor car valued at £200. rand six other charges of theft of petrol, oil and clothing of a total value of £5 16/. Detective-Sergeant McHugh explained that two other young men involved in the same series of charges had already been sentenced, one to nine months and the othe/ to twelve months' imprisonment.

Appearing for Edwards. Mr. W. Noble said the accused was a young Maori who had come to Auckland from the North and had got mixed up with the other two, "young Bor.stal graduates." all goins on an excursion in a converted car. "Edwards is easily led and eot into this trouble through his association with the other two men." counsel added. "He left them when they would not return the motor car which had been taken."
