Hope is being , abandoned for the safe return of five-year-old Jimmy Cash, who was kidnapped from his home on Monday and whose wealthy father paid the ransom of 10.000 dollars yesterday, there having been no word from the kidnappers for 30 hours.

Hundreds of citizen* undertook a grim man-hunt in parties, (i-men introduced a dramatic touch into the proceedings when they seized M. F. Braxton. a carpenter, who was waiting to be sworn in one posse.

They declined to give any information regarding steps taken other than that Braxton was being questioned.
