Star Pronto finished just behind Kewpie'ft Triumph and Native Prince to record 3.2 2-5 for the mile and ' a quarter—very good time indeed, when the break is taken into consideration. The trotter Wah (S. M. August) mixed his gait in a tryout over a mile and a half, which he accomplished in 3.47, the last half in 1.14 1-5. Munga Tangi (L. Lnver), Lucky Love v (W. Willette) and Argolis (S. M. August) were tried out together, Argnlit* giving the other pair about 15yds start. Lucky Love trailed Munga Tangi to the mile and a quarter pole, where they were together, having covered the journey in 3,5, the last half in 1.11. Argolis, who. was going, very easily, put hie last half by in 1.12. A nice piece of work was done by Equipoise (S. M. August) and Tommy MeElwyn (A. MeKenz.ie) over a mile and a halCin 3.46, the last half in 1.12. The maiden Tommy MrElwyn impressed as one who ie improving with racing.

The pacer Roman Chief (A. J. Fowler) and the trotter Reception (W. Wheeler) were down from Cambridge and went together, the trotter (riving a perfect display in the lead for a mile, after which hia companion ran to him and put a mile and a quarter by comfortably in 3.13 1-5. He win then two lengths in front.

Autumn Lu (G. Rtubbs). Bingen Son (W. Willetts) and the three-year-old Great Surprise went together over a mile and a ouarter in 3.58, the last mile in 1.43.
