LODGE ELECTIONS.

RECHABITE ACTIVITIES. ' There was a large attendance at the 1 installation of officers of the Myrtle) Kchckah Lodge. No. 4. 1.0.0.F.. Sister' P. Winter presiding and welcoming the visitors. The routine business was quickly but Hlii-ientlv dealt with and then 'sister L. Boles. 1.P.L.D.D.G.M.,! conducted the installation ceremony. The! new officers are: —X.<«.. Sister Kearney, sen.; outside guardian, Sister Barry;' inside gUF.rdiau, Sister Price; musician. Sister Kearney; preceptor, Sister Rodgers; J.P.G., Sister Winter. The Noble Grand asked the lady deputies to address the meeting and each afterwards received a fragrant bouquet. Sister Culprit. L.DJ).G.M., presented the district ritual shield and jewels won by the lodge and officers in the recent competition. The jewel winners were: — J.P.<;.. Sister I.attershill; chaplain. Sister Morgans; K.S.N.G., Sister Laing; L.S.N'.t;.. Sister Sniardon; L.S.V.G.. sister Cleaver. Sister Battershill also received her P.X.G.'s collar and certificate and suitably responded. At the conclusion of the proceedings, the social committee served a very nice supper.

The KMith half-yearly meeting of the Gordon Tent 1.0. R. was held on Tuesday last, the chief ruler, Bro. X. Ireland, presiding over a good attendance of officers and members. Three candidates were duly initiated with full ceremony and two more were proposed for next meeting. The business was fairly light as the quarterly balance sheet had not been received from the auditors. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Chief ruler, Bro. X. Ireland; R.H.S., Bro. R. W. Dixon; L.H.S., Bro. T. Ireland; deputy ruler, Sister B. Wagner; R.H.S., Bro. (i. Vazey; L.H.S., Bro. A. Caddy; P.C.R., Bro. G. Archer; secre-tary-treasurer and S.J.W., Bro. H. Campling; cash steward, Bro. W. Downes; book steward, Bro. D. Smythe; levite, Bro. G. Campling; guardian. Sister B. Pearson; pianist, Sister Torbett; auditor. Bros. Yockney and T. Ireland; Rechabite reporter, Bro. X. Ireland; F.S. column reporter, Bro. R. Dixon. The past chief ruler, Bro. G. Archer, assisted by Sister Pilkington, duly installed the new officers and impressed upon them the responsibility of their office. It was decided to hold a mock ritual on a date when no candidates were present. An entertainment committee was appointed to formulate some form of amusement for those not taking part in bowls.

The youthful Enterprise Juvenile Temple. 1.0.G.T.. met on Thursday evening, the C.T., Bro. W. Large, presiding over a fair attendance. Opportunity was taken to farewell three members who are leaving to reside at Takinini. Sisters Fay, Betty and Ruby Vidak. These have all been in ofhVe and have proved themselves good members. Sister Cant. D.S.J.W.. presented each one with a handsome book and wished them every success in their new home. Sister Cant also presented the winners of the membership prizes with their gifts. The winners were (first) . Sister Jean Hardwicke and (second) Sister Betty Vidak. Games were played after a short educational talk had been given by the G.S.J.M.

The Maungarei Rebekah Lodge, Xo. 66, had a good number of members and officers present to witness their installation ceremony. Sister J. Irwin presided over the opening ceremonies and welcomed the visitors. The chief ceremony of the evening was ably carried out by the L.D.D.G.M.. Sifter Culpitt, and her suite. W. Sutton. At the conclusion of the ceremony the retiring P.X.G.. Sister A. Clark, was presented with her X.X.G. certificate, whilst bouquets were presented to Sister Culpitt. Sister Newbold, P.L.D.D.G.M., and Sister Gear. A bouquet was also sent to Sister Holloway, who was absent through sickness. A very happy everting closed with a social hour.

Ponsonby Lodge. Xo. 17, M.U.A.0.D., had a good attendance on quarter night, and among the visitors present were P.G.P. Bro. Gregory, and the D.P.. Bro. W. Caddy. The opening of the Paecoe Cup tournament for the Kechabite indoor bowling teams took place in the Gordon Tent room and Foresters' Hall. Onehunga, on Tuesday week, when over 00 bowlers and friends were in attendance. The new president, Bro. H. Campling, declared the tournament open, and some very keenly contested games were witnessed. During an interval supper was served under the capable supervision of Sister; Mies Campling, ably assisted by Sisters Torbett. Pickering and Pilkington. After supper, before the games were resumed, the past president, Bro. Baker, introduced Bro. Campling, the newly-elected president, and wished him a very happy term of office. The vice-president, Bro. MePherson. was also introduced. Bro. George Day. of Devonport. received the congratulations of the gathering upon starting upon his 23rd year as secretary. The wiuners of last season's competitions were then presented with their trophies. Bro. X. McLeod. Chief Ruler of the Gordon Tent, accepted on behalf of the A team of thp tent the Pa*eo= Cup. which was won in the rinks competition. Bro. IT. Campling end his 'laughter. Si.-tey Pilkinpton, received the nips won in the pairs tourney, and Bro. Gelding was presented with the singles cup. his nmnwnp. Bro. R. Brodie. also rrMvfcjr a trophy. Bro. R. Wilson. 0.C.n.. announced that a challenge had J bren issued to the Eden-Roskill R.S.A. : for return matches, August 31 being the •suggested date if suitable to them.

The Te Kuiti Court, A.0.F., had a good muster nt its last meeting, when the court's delegates to the district conference gave a full report of the proceedings. The order's insurance fund was epecially mentioned as being in a very healthy condition, with a substantial credit balance. The Government's national health proposals had also been discussed, and Bro. A. J. Osborne, M.P., a past D.C.R., had beer, deputed to represent the order at a Wellington conference. The delegates were heart ily thanked for their interesting report. The meeting closed with an hour of social intercourse.
