TENDER CRITICISED.
RAILWAYS £3 MORE. FURNITURE REMOVAL. "This sort of thing ahould receive the fullest publicity," said Mr. W. I. Bowyer, I at to-day'e meeting of the Auckland • Education Board when two tenders were received for the conveyance of the furniture of a teacher who was under transfer. The tender from a private contractor was for £12, and from the Railways Department £15. "Twenty-five per cent more for the railway transport seems a lot. The extra money is worth saving," said the chairman, Mr. T. U. Wells. The tenders were referred to the Education Department for decision.
