BUSINESS STILL DULL BUT SOME IMPROVEMENT. FARMERS' TRADING ADVANCE. The market trend continues (Jul!, but there were a few bright spots at tins morning's call. Fair support was given to Dominion issues, and Westport, Stockton sold l'id up, at 3, , with move wanted. Chief advance, however, was in Farmers' Trading, buyers for the ordinaries moving up, first to £1 1/ and then to £1 1.".}, with lowest sellers £1 1.6. Taranaki Oils received fresh attrition, and after sales at 8 8 and 8/9 ,t u?rc were still buyers at the latter figure, sellers rctii ing {<. f) 3. Australians showed some improvement. There was the usual keen demand finGovernment issues, the only business being a parcel of 3Vi per cent \i3-'37 Bonds at £98 17/6, a rise of 5/ since last sale in April, and of stocks of the same issue at the same price, showing a drop of 2 (> since Monday. Mount Lyell's Lower. There was little change during the morning. At midday Mount Lyells recorded a drop of 6d, with closing quotations at £1 2/6 and £1 3/, and Broken frill I'roprietarys were on offer 9d lower, at C 3. Buyer;* of Farmers' Trading revised the itlimits to £1 1/, and for Dunlop, I'erdriaus sellers came in at £1 0,0. An offer to sell New Zealand Breweries at £2 2 0 brought no response.
