INCREASE DURING MAT.
Births registered in Auckland during May showed an increase of 66 over the number for the corresponding month last year. They totalled 269. In the period January-May, 1202 births were registered, showing an increase of 116 over the total for the first five months last year.
Other vital statistics, with corresponding figures for 1937 in parentheses, are j as follow:—Marriage licenses: For May. 251 (205); for five months, 1315 (1180). J Deaths: May, 186 (152); five months,l 922 (805).
