HARBOUR BRIDGE.
TOLLS FAVOURED.
The Mount Eden Borough Council last evening-, following upon a letter received from the- Waitemata Harbour Bridge Association, passed the following resolution: "That the Mount Eden Borough Council is in favour of the immediate erection of the Auckland Harbour Bridge by the Government as a national undertaking, the bridge to be a toll bridge." Messrs. Johns. Chappell, Harrop, F1 etcher and Turner expressed the opinion that users of the bridge should be the ones to pay, and should the revenue from tolls be insufficient to meet interest payments and maintenance cost the deficit should be provided by the Government and not be made levies upon local bodies. r
