BEST MARKET.
MILK PRODUCERS' RIGHTS.
CHEESE AND BUTTER SUPPLIES.
Mr. N. R. Davenport, president of the Auckland Fresh Milk Producers and Vendors' Association, said this morning that in his opinion the question of a hold-up of the city milk did not arise. The town milk producer still had the right to sell milk in the best 'market. Unless a payable uriee was arranged for the supply to the metropolitan area, the producers might decide to transfer their output to either cheese or butter ' factories, where it was considered that the prices were more satisfactory. The producers had always welcomed const!- * tutional methods in endeavouring to gain a fair price for milk, and he was «ure that those lines would continue to i » be followed. By supplying either butter or .cheese factories much lower costs *<W»ld be Incurred, d the difficulties ef endeavouring to keep op a itgiflar enpT*y at winter milk, without receiving an adequate return, would be avoided. Pro- * never been off their htriLll !i *1 welcome a d«ring. the winter months.
