OPINION DIVIDED.
UNION EXECUTIVE. SOCIAL SECURITY PLAN. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The Government's social security proposals are to be the subject of a referendum of members of the Wellington Clerical Workers' Industrial Union. That a division of opinion exists on the executive is revealed in a circular letter heading the voting paper which has been sent to members. "The recently-announced superannuation scheme has been discussed by this executive, which, (however, is divided as to what policy would be in the best interests of the. union," it is stated in the circular. "Members are requested to answer the following questions and to add any remarks they may wish:— "Are you in favour of the proposed superannuation and national health scheme? Would you favour it if superannuation applied to everybody irrespective of income? Are you*in favour of national health insurance apart from superannuation. Are you in favour of superannuation apart from national health insurance? Do you already contribute to any superannuation fund? Do you already contribute to any medical benefit fund?"
