CAR WRECKED.
TWO MEN INJURED. PAPATOETOE ACCIDENT. COUJSION AT CORNER. The wrecked remains of a small sedan motor car were found at the corner of (Jreat South Road and Cornwall Road, Papatoetoe, this morning. The fabric hood and wooden framework had been completely smashed from the rest of the body, which was badly damaged, the seats had been thrown from the car and were picked up some short distance from the vehicle, the batteries had been torn out and the doors hung loosely on their hinges. Shortly before one o'clock this morning the car, driven by Mr. Ronald C. Batten, of Hamilton, was going south from Auckland when it was involved in a collision with another small sedan car driven by Mr, A. W. Timewell, of St. George's Street, Papatoetoe, as the latter, also south-bound, turned up Cornwall Road. Mr. Batten's car turned upside down before coming to rest on its side, and Mr. Timewell's car was slightly damaged when it fell on its side as the result of the impact, but it was able to proceed later under its own power. Mr. Batten was badly cut on the hand by glass and his passenger, Mr. F. J. Watson, suffered a bruised back. Both were .attended by Dr. T. R. Plunkett. of Papatoetoe. Neither the driver nor the passenger, Mr. R. Price of Papatoetoe, of the other car was injured.
