DISPLAY IN LONDON.
AUCKLAND CHILLED BEEF. Chilled beof shown at the Auckland Show was shipped to London by the I Ounedin Star. As there were only 201 quarters it was decided not to have a dis-1 play nt Smithfield. but to make a special j display in one of the London retail shops. Reports IVrwarded by experts to the | Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral | Society state that this small consignment « was as jrood as any beef yet seen from Xew Zeaknd. It was excellent quality. although inclinecr" to be on the wasteful side from the butchers' point of view. In brightness and condition the beef compared very favourably with Argentine. Tn fact, it would have been very difficult indeed to differentiate were productions void of origin stamps. The butchering of the beef was excellent and much credit must be given to the works for their efforts in this direction. Eating quality was excellent.
