LATE NEWS. WEATHER FORECAST. FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the " Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Light to moderate westerly winds, veering to north-west and freshening somewhat. A few isolated showers at first and later becoming more widespread, but weather mainly fair. Temperatures moderate. Seas moderate on the west coast and slight on the east coast. The anti-cyclone yesterday over the Tasman Sea is now centred over the northern part of the North Island, but has decreased in intensity. A moderate westerly depression is approaching across the south Tasman Sea. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate westerly winds and veering by west to north somewhat. A few isolated showers at first, later becoming more widespread, but mainly fair to cloudy weather. Barometer little movement. Sea smooth to moderate. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon ro-day:— Wind, westerly, moderate; sea, moderate; weather, cloudy and fine; visibility, fair; barometer, rising.
