SUPERANNUATION AND THRIFT.

The suggested superannuation and sicW benefits scheme goes to show how far a false sense of justice will carry even our Prime Minister. The eightpence in the pound is. to be taken off the workers and substituted by one shilling in the pound. Those people who have taken the trouble to provide for themselves and families to tlie extent of superannuation and sick benefits through the lodges are to be taxed an extra shilling in the pound to provide for people, many of whom never had any intention of providing for themselves, even though they had ample opportunity. It is recognised there-are many that have never had a chance, but they are in tlie minority. The man who has helped through the depression is to have nr. relief from taxation. Mr. Xash stated that the people were willing to pay a shilling in the pound for relief of unemployment. but he knows perfectly well there was no option, and the method that was so condemned bv the Labour party is bring now introduced, only in a more vicious manner. Why not copy the Australian scheme? I have a family of four childreA. I am paying into a superannuation scheme, also to a lodge for sick benefits.
