WEATHER FORECAST.
FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the Auckland " Star ,, this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland province to as far south as Hamilton, Kawhia and Tauranga:— Light to moderate south-easterly winds prevailing and freshening in the far north. Weather fine at first, but cloud increasing and later rain developing in northern areas. Temperatures mild. Seas sliqht, but later rising on the east coast. An intense anti-cyclone lies centrally over the Dominion. A disturbance located to the north of Norfolk Island is moving slowly southward, and a moderate depression covers Tasmania. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate south-easterlies prevailing and freshening. There is a prospect of fair and mild weather, but increasing haze and cloudiness, and later rain probable. Barometer little movement. Seas smooth to moderate and laier increasing. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind, east, moderate; sea, moderate; weather, fine, with scattered clouds; visibility, good; barometer, rising.
