SHOW CROWDS.
POPULARITY GROWS. MANY ATTRACTIONS. RECORD DOG ENTRIES. The continuance of fine weather has drawn increasing crowds to the Auckland Winter Exhibition at the Epsom Showgrounds, and the prospects to-day were considered the best yet. Special trams were run from the city this afternoon, being met by buses, which conveyed visitors into the grounds. The dog show arranged by the Auckland Kennel Club was a point of interest to-day. Entries were the largest ever received at a dog show in New Zealand, the quality of all exhibits being excellent. King events were scheduled for this afternoon, including the final of the Koman chariot handicap, trotting races and tlie draught horse derby. Another popular feature was the model aeroplane Hying competition. Six competitors took part in the Auckland champion hunters' competition, results being: Mr. R. Attwell's Cay Boy, I j Airs. Pirie Dixon's Nobby, 2; Mr. E. L'ilkington's Sir Queve, 3. Judging in the dancing competitions under the control of the Highland and National Dancing Society was continued this afternoon, results being as follows: Novice Highland fling: L Nickelson, 1; B. Hunt. 2; N. Sheehan, 3. Sword dance : (under 13): E. Smith, 1; M. Gwilliam,' 2; N. Campbdl. 3. Highland fling (under 17): .F. Setters, 1; A. Copeland, 2; M. C'ollcdge, :t. Clog waltz (novice): •T. Davidson, I; 1). McKenzie, 2; Tni Brown. 3. Irish hornpipe (under 17): A. I'nidimi. 1; I. Setters, 2; B. Balfe, 3. Sailors' hornpipe (under 13): D. Thome, I: .1. Davidson. 2: M. Culland, 3. Irish jig (buys, under lit): N. Nelson, 1; D. Thome," 2; P. Mills, 3. The pony jumping competition for boy or girl riders not over 18 years of age resulted in a tie between Miss M. Mulcahy's drey Peter and Mise M. Culford Bell's "Tomtit, with Miss R. Lilkolly's Paddy third. Miss Mulcahy, who is only ten years old, rode bareback. STAKES.
