His claim to fame and immortality was that he had invented the upturned moustache which the Kaiser i made so famous in pre-war days. It wa3 a mighty and impressive appendage, frightening to the young, inspiring to the old, especially in Prussia. After the Kaiser had abdicated Francois Hnby still was famed for his art, but then came the Nazis and he faded, like the moustache nf h!> creation, into obscurity. i
