Only a handful 01 sales was recorded on call this morning, the markets showing tho usual Monday dullness. Prices barely held those ruling at the close of last week. Few quotation* .-•■*•<.■ made in Government debentures, i*uu*r for banks selling offers predominatei!. Fair support was shown for meat company shares. Southlands were wanted at £ I 7/0, but sellers mainly were holding well nil'. Buying limits for Xcw- Zealands and Tooth's Breweries provided blight features, for, though no sales were made, buyers moved up to il'2 4 0 for the former and to £2 l.i/3 for the latter. Sellers asked JC'2 ">/ and £•_> Hi, 3 respectively. British Tobaccos and Dunlnps were quoted with a penny between buyers and sellers, but no business was recorded. Miscellaneous industrials generally enjoyed steady, though dull, conditions. Broken Hill I'roprietarys hist some of the ground which tlicy gained on Saturday.
