JOURNALISTS' UNION.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The twenty-sixth annual meeting of the Auckland Journalists' Union on Saturday evening was attended by 92 journalists, including a number of country members. Officers elected were: President, Mr. R. A. Mclntoeh; vicepresident, Mr. H. Oakley Browne; executive. Miss M. Gaudin and Messrs. W. S. Jordan, A. S. Ridling, I. Ryland, E k! Green, W. J. H. Reynolds, R. Miller, J. C. I.yne and R. A. Sinclair; auditors, Messrs. T. Clarkson and Benton; trustees, Messrs. A. Bullock and C. J Whitaker. A presentation of the gold badge of the New Zealand Journalists' Association was made by Mr. Browne, on behalf of the association, to Mr. E. C. Franklin, the retiring president of the union, in recognition of his services to the organisation. It was reported that the present membership of the union was 184, of whom many were on the staffs of country newspapers.
