WEDDING DELAYED.
(Fi-nin O\ir t'lirrpspondcnt.) HASTINGS, Thursday. A wedding, which was to have taken place, in Xapier on Wednesday, had to lie postponed for 24 hours while dip bridegroom, who lived at Wairoa. niade his way through the Hood-stricken area to Waijiunna on foot and on horseback with extreme difficulty. Waikari on Tuesday night, nnd set Una out at daylight on Wednesday, lie walked nearly 2r> miles over very 'difficult country to Wiiipnnjra, where motor transport was available.
The two young people concerned were Miss .loan Lambie. only daughter of Mr. unci Mrs. Y\\ XI. Lambie, of Xapier. and Eric Le Powdrill, second son of Mr. nnd Mrs. L. Le IWdrell, of Wniiou. The wedding- took place at St. John's Cathedral. Xapier, to-day.
