Prospects Of Nawton Parrish

THE AUCKLAND MEETING.

One-Day Fixture — Within Fancied in

Whitford.

Twenty Acceptors.

Innovation Handicap.

(liven nnything like favourable weather, Hip onn-dny programme offered by the Auckland Trotting Club should attract a large crowd to Epsom tomorrow. Kxcellent acceptances have been received for all events, and so solid was the response made by owners of candidates in the Devonport Handicap I hut the club decided to run the event

in two divisions. p«ch division to l>e aseparate race, which means that the original programme of seven races will hi' now mi eight-event one. Betting will be 011 the "in and place system, and it is safe to assume there will be three place dividends in each event. During 1 lie week a fair amount of rain has fallen, iiiid, even though the weather be line 1.11 Saturday, the chances are the going will lie holding.

In the opening event, the Innovation Handicap, a 3.40 das* for trotters, there is an acceptance of 20, and easily the best trotter in the race is the backmarker, Pirate's Last. The limit lot — and there are 15 of them—do not make 11 strong appeal on actual form, but evpn so Pirate's Last is asked to concede IMiyds, not an easy task by any means, and the chances are he will find it just too much for him, although he should go well. Canadian and Great Surprise will be coupled on the machine. Canadian managed to till third place on the Kast Coast circuit, and because of that alone is entitled to respect. Dick Redmond has speed, but is inclined to leave his feet, and another who is not solid, though possessed of pace, is Elliotvale. Heather Glow, Lady Musk and Leeleetu ui'o promising sorts, and Moira Bingen lias speed. Of those handicapped behind the limit, Worthy Lu, Lady Bunker and Pirate's Last appear to be the best. L'suully these races are won from the limit, and .three who may get consideration are

LEELEETA CANADIAN LADY BUNKER

Devonport Handicap.

There are Iβ in the first division of the Devon port' Handicap, a 3.5 mile and a quarter, and on a tine track every one of them would be able to knock many seconds off their handicap marks. Elsie Harnlyn, John's Last, Neon Oro, Lady Potts and Harlow are promising sorts on the front, but it is a very open race, and betting is likely to take a wide range. Among those fancied may be

JOHN'S LAST LADY POTTS ELSIE HAMLYN,

Second Division.

The second division provides another difficult problem for those searching for the most likely winner. There are 15 engaged, and the list contains several promising pacers. So far Axminster has not fulfilled the good opinions formed of him, but he has not done a great deal of racing and,'being a big gelding, should be just about coming right. He would not require to be a real good horse to win this race. Bonnie Pointer has been three times in the money and looks to have a royal chance. Sequoia has speed, and Stargum and Wall Street are likely to* go well. Summed up, the prospects of three who may appeal are

AXMINSTER BONNIE POINTER STARGUM.

The Chief Event,

With F. J. Smith's pair, Crocus and Xervie's Last, not starting in the Fergusson Handicap, there promises to.be a field of nine, which is just a nice size to make for a good contest. The limit trio —Nawton Parrish, Noble" Prince and Star Pronto—can all go a good mile and a half, and Nawton Parrish should be very hard to beat. Star Pronto has been working well, but he is not always reliable, though if the track be heavy he should be hard to beat, as he paces free-legged. Fernbrook Lass has gone a couple of good races, and both Prince Pedro and Willie Derby are useful. Auto Machine enn hardly be expected to take part in the finish, but both Gold Dredge and Kewpie's Triumph are well, and if the track happens to be heavy it will suit Kewpie's Triumph. The race should be a good one, with support for

NAWTOX PARRISH GOLD DREDGE FERXBROOK LASS. A Good Field. A number of improving pacers who should pass into a better jrrade next season will line up for the Franklin Handicap, a 3.38 mile and a. half. Recent winners on the limit are Isabella Pointer and Equipoise and they are bound to be prominent to-morrow. Kete Kura is another who should go well and Kewpie'e Queen is a possibility. Bedford and Viinora appear the beet of those handicapped behind the limit, but as more than 50 per cent of races for pacers are won by horeee handicapped on the front perhaps the winner will come from therel Recent form gives good chances to

ISABELLA POINTER EQUIPOISE KETE KURA. For Trotters. The WWtlord Handicap, a 3.46 class mile and a half, ie for trotters, and has drawn Iji acceptance of eleven. The three oit'i tl%.limit —Baby. Bingen, Dick ltudmontl an&Tfthworthy— *re all giving

WITHIN* COROXA BELL IMRATKS LAST

Henderson Handicap.

away time to be in the race, and they aro not likely to start unless thev happen to be in the money in the Innovation Trot earlier in the day. Corona Bell, on 24yds. should «o " well, and Braemar is a possibility; and further liack. Win Huon (36ycfs) and Within (48yds), will jret backing. Sun and T'irute's Last are useful, but are on tiOyds. while Audo Patch i* a lonjr way back cm l.Vivds. There should be support for

Thirteen have accepted for the Henderson Handicap, but as Crocus will not be produced a field of a dozen is left. They appear to be a well-balanced lot, and several have shown good form. Argnlis. (Jay Sister. Minima Tangi, Kewpie's Crest and Musketeer are all entitled to consideration, and also on the limit witli them is the smart three-year-old Ka.ndusky, who will probably be favourite. Our War. from 24vds, has been raring well and is a good pacer. Favoured by backers may be SAXDUSKY 01 R WAR ARGOLIS. The Final Event. The last opportunity of finding a winner will be provided when the held parides for the Papatoetoe Handicap, a 3.33 mile and a half. There are 18 acceptors, and bracketed horses will be Cavan Chief and Charlie Chan and Petite Jewel and Frank Best. The firstmentioned bracket is bound to carry a lot of money, as both Cavan Chief and Charlie Chan are useful sorts. -Derby Lu has speed, and so also have True Trust and Transwell. Transwell has won three races lately. Bronze Queen is a good filly and should be difficult to dispose of. Young Pointer is another who may go well, but those handicapped further back than 12yds do not make a strong appeal. The final ring may find the favourites TRUE TRUST TRANSWELL BRONZE QUEEN".
