ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY,

THAMES, this day.
The annual meeting of the Thames Acclimatisation Society last evening wag largely attended. The report and balancesheet showed that the finances and membership had greatly increased and that there ' were approximately 100 members on the roll
Officers were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. J. Thorn, M.P.; vice-patron, the Hon. W. Parry; president, Mr. X. Jonassen; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. McLean, W. H. Lloyd and J. Gleeson; council, Messrs. A. Mead, J. Huxlev, J. Crosbie, W. Paul, W. Sparkes," G. Cosgrovc, E. C. Thomassen. J. Donnelly. B. Hay ward; secretary, Mr. J. G. Williamson; treasurer. Mr .F. S. Miller; auditor Mr. A. Read.
Messrs. Thomassen .and Jonassen were elected delegates to the Auckland Society and Mr. J. Gleeson was elected a life member.
It was stated by the president that to date (>2 pheasants had been liberated in the district and some thousands of fry and finfrerlings had been liberated in the Kauaeraiura, Waiwawa, Waikawau and Kaimarama streams.
