MORE NOMINATIONS.
BOROUGHS AND COUNTIES. NEW LYNN CANDIDATES. There is ample evidence that the local body elections on Wednesday, May 11, next throughout the city, suburbs and province will be keenly contested, as many aspirants for office have come forward. Two Auckland suburban Mayors have been returned unopposed, Mr. I. J. Goldstine for One Tree Hill, and Mr. S. Donaldson for Newmarket. The latter has already served for 17 years in that position. At Hamilton there will be a triangular contest for the Mayoralty, and 33 candidates have offered themselves for the Borough Council. Nominations closed at noon to-day for the Xew Lynn Borough Council, and the Henderson and Glen Eden Town Boards. The present Mayor, Mr. George Lawson. will be opposed by three other candidates, and 20 candidates are offering for the Borough Coirneil. There will.be ilo. election for the Henderson Town Board, as the nominations do not exceed the number of seats. There are 12 candidates for *seven seats on the Glen Eden Town Board.
