Restriction Regulations May Be Applied. BUY "FLYING FORTRESSES"? United Press Association.—Copyright. XEW YORK, April 26. The British Air Ministry Commission of five experts and technicians, headed by Air Commodore J. G. Weir, has arrived in Washington to negotiate purchases of American military aiieiatt, says the \\ ashington correspondent of the "Now York Times." An Administration spokesman emphasised that purchases will be governed by the same restrictions as apply to all foreign purchases, in spite of frequent rumours of implied agreements between Britain and America involving extraordinary co-operation in the British rearmament programme. 1 he resti ictions forbid the release of types of aeroplanes developed for the I nited States Army and Xavv untii six months after the delivery 'of the first stock model for home use. which is often a year after the building of the experimental model. Thus Biitain might obtain quick delivery of most standard aeroplanes, including the "flying fortresses," but if she wishes to buy aeroplanes which are at present in the experimental staaes an order could be taken only in the indefinite future.
