HEAVY KILLINGS.
OTAGO FREEZING WORKS. (By Telegraph.— Special to " Star.") DUXEDIN, Tuesday. The South Otago freezing works are experiencing a very busy period. To date the total of sheep and lambs slaughtered is 344,334 head, an increase of 71,053 head for the same period last vear. The number of cattle killed ie 1750 head, compared with 1824 head last year, a decrease of 74. This was brought about by the pressure of space and rush of lambs. The average killing per day is 3100 head, and bookings ahead assure full time for a period to come.
