SUPPLY OF LIQUOR.
MAORI FINED £4. (From Our Correspondent.) THAMES, Tuesday. A Maori, Walter Watana, was fined 20/ for procuring liquor and £4 for aiding and abetting in the supply of liquor, when he appeared before Mr. W. H. Freeman. S.M., in the Thames Police Court to-day. Sergeant Harrison stated that a drunken party had been in progress at the house of Watana, who was a prohibited person. During the afternoon tliev consumed several gallons of beef. In the evening another gallon of beer was obtained and two women joined the party. Edward -T. Brown, for supplying liquor to female natives and to prohibited persons, was fined .£•"> and costs. Kenneth H. Shaw. for procuring liquor while prohibited and supplying liquor to prohibited persons, was fined £o and costs.
