RIFLE SHOOTING.
SOUTH AUCKLAND CONTROL. The annual meeting of the South .Auckland Rifle Association, held at Matamata Fire Brigade Hall, wns presided over by Mr. W. M. Griffiths, and was attended by 50 riflemen from as far distant as Whangarci, Unutoke, Rawene. Whakataue, Masterton. Clevedon, Papakura, Tauranga and Auckland. The accounts showed that the income for the year totalled £187, of which entries accounted for £170. On the expenditure side prize money accounted for £134.
Officers elected :—Patron, Mr.' C. H. Burnett, M.P.; vice-patrons, Messrs. J. Allison and Fraser-Smlth : president. Mr. W. M. Griffiths; vice-prtwddent, Mr. H. W. Rollett; secretary, Mr. H. R. King; auditor, Mr. G. G. Griffiths: committee, executive or the Matamata Rifle Club with the addition of the presidents of clubs in South Auckland area.
