HOCKEY.
LADIES' ASSOCIATION. TOUR OF ENGLISH TEAM. Further details of the tour of the English women's hockey team were dealt with at the executive meeting of the Auckland Association. It was learnt that the visitors will arrive in Auckland on June 4, and a match will be played again Waipa at Te Awamutu on June 9. The names of Mrs. R. Hamlin, Misees A. Twiname and P. Smith were submitted the New Zealand Umpires Association for the appointment of a referee for the country match.
Miss P. H. Dawson, who has been actively connected with the Auckland Ladies' Association, both as a player and as an executive member for 25 years, was reappointed sole selector for the coming season. An Auckland provincial team will be chosen to meet the All-Englaild team at Eden. Park an June. 11. The New Zealand representative team will be selected at a trial game to be played at Manawatu on June 18, and all players taking part will be called upon to defray their own expenses.
