FOURTEENTH ANNIVERSARY.
SPECIAL CHORAL SERVICE.
A large congregation celebrated yesterday the fortieth anniversary of Knox Presbyterian Church, Parnell. Features of the service were an organ recital by Mr. Claude Laurie and the singing of the Easter cantata, "Via Crucis," by the church choir, augmented by the Lyric Harmonists' Choir to a strength of 40.
Music-lovers attended from l«»ng distances to hear the singing of "Via Crucis," which, it is believed, has not beer, performed in Xew Zealand before. Soloists were the Misses Tliora Davidson and Vivien Scott and Messrs. Maurice Casey and Eric Child. Mr. W. H. Bennett played the organ for the cantata and Mr. Claude Laurit acted as conduct or.
