CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING.
AUCKLAND GUN CLUB
The Auckland Gun Club held a clay-bird shoot on its grounds at Pakuranga on Saturday. Results:—
Seven Birds Eyeopener.—R. Grierson (11yds). R. H. Bartley (14vds), E.P. Wells (15yds), L. Bedford (13yds), C. Bovil (14yds), W. Turner (18yds). L. Strain (11yds), A. Sommerville (11yds), F. Seccombe (14yds). each shot the possible.
Fifteen Birds Handicap Match, for a club trophy. oppn to clnb members and visitors.—L. Henderson (15yds), L. Bedford (14.vds). and C. E. Hodge (18yds). each shot the possible. In the shoot-oflf Bedford dropped the sixteenth bird and Henderson the thirty-fifth bird. Hodge securing his 'o win the trophy. Six others shot 14 birds.
Seven Birds Gimcrack. —A. E. Macredie (13yds to 25yds), C. Vovil (13yds to 25ydsi. E. Cathcart (12yds to 24yds), E. Monteith (12yds to 24yds), L. Strain (11yds to 23yds), W. Turner (14yds to 2(s.vds), and L. Bedford (12yds to 24yds) each shot the possible.
Ten Birds Double Rise.—W. Turner (15yds) shot nine birds: A. E. Macredie (14yds) and F. Soccombe (13yds) cr.cli shot eight birds.
