COSTLY LUGGAGE.
EUROPEAN FOIBLES.
VIEUX ROSE MOROCCO.
PASSENGERS ON RELIANCE
A study of luggage may be thorough, as in the case of a Customs officer, distasteful, in the eyes of a porter, or merely boring—that is to the owner — but to a "Star" reporter a long line of personal bags and cases owned by tourists on the Reliance, and spread out 011 the Western wharf this morning proved informative and interesting. | There was nothing cheap about this rather imposing mass. One very handsome gladstone bag was of rare rhinoceros leather, and appeared to have accompanied its owner to many a queer spot 011 the globe. Perhaps the most impressive bag was of semi-circular design, with patch pockets, the material being wide-grained Morocco leather tinted vieux. rose; obviously the prized possession of a lady. Among the hotel labels affixed to it was that of King David's Hotel, Perusalem. Then there was a grey suede case with a niotiograniniod silk cover bearing the label of the world's most famous hotel, Shepheard's Hotel, Cairo.
Fibre and imitation leather were conspicuous by their absence. A zip fastener arrangement hel<". together a very expensive baicr of black Morocco, while careless packing revealed as a lady the owner of a chic little affair in pebblegrained Morocco. There were also tonedsuede, cowhide, ealf and patent leather.
The parish labels of hotels in all parts of the world were pasted 011 the luggage. Xotable was the Galilee Hotel, Jerusalem. Roma Hotel, Tunis, Reber ati Lac, Locarno; while such towns as Tiberius (Palestine), Tangiers, Bangkok, Ligaro, Saniarang (.Java), Florence. Xapoli. Athens and Milan, nestled side by side in a miniature Cook's tour.
