METHODIST CHURCH.
AUCKLAND CENTRA!. CIRCUIT,
The quarterly meeting of representatives of the churches comprising the Auckland Central Circuit was held in the Pitt Street Church on Monday, the Rev. E. T. Olds presiding.
Returns, showed the church membership totals as 779 senior, 264 junior and 377 infant. The Sunday schools recorded 106 teachers and 777 scholars. Reports were received on behalf of youth . committee, particular reference being made to the formation of boys' brigades and girl's life brigade companies. A report showed that the finances of the circuit were in a satisfactory position, and after special payments of over £50 a credit balance of £2 5/1 was carried forward.
Annual appeals for foreign missions had so far produced over £378, £112 of which was specially donated for the medical fund. It was intimated that Dr. and Mrs. Rutter and two nurses would shortly leave for the Solomon Islands Mission station and would be farewelled in the Pitt Street Church on Monday, April 11. Arrangements were made for foreign mission services throughout the circuit. [ During the current quarter special golden jubilee anniversary services are to be held at the Eden Terrace Church. Proposed functions in connection with the Methodist bicentenary celebrations to be held in May were discussed. Thn final arrangements were being made by a special .district committee. Appreciation was. expressed of the work done during the past three years by the Rev. H. G. Brown, who had recently been transferred to another circuit. I
