BACK TO WORK.
MINERS' DECISION.
HUNTLY DEADLOCK ENDS.
VISIT BY SECRETARY.
The coal miners at Huntly, who had been idle owing to a dispute involving five mines in the district, resumed Work this morning.
Yesterday Mr. A. McLagan. secretary of the United Mine Workers' Union, visited the district and addressed a number of meetings of minors. A vote was taken, and by 24S to 173 it was decided to return to work and allow the dispute to be dealt with by the National Disputes Committee at Wellington on April 0.
Mr. McLagan stated last evening that he had made inquiries in the district, and the facts of the dispute were as stated by him previously in an interview on March 24. The payment in dispute had actually been made previously, but the manager bad stopped the payment, and the miners alleged that there had been a breach of the agreement.
