A Recent Wedding.

FOOTE—AUSTEN.

St. Peter's, Takapuna, was prettily decorated with Michaelmas daisies for the wedding on Saturday evening of Patricia Joy, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John K. Austen, of O'Neill's Avenue, Takapuna, to William. Harold, only son of Airs. Foote and the late Mr. P. Foote, of Auckland. The Rev. W. C. Wood, an old friend of the bridegroom's family, performed the ceremony, the organist being Mr. Jack French. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked youthful and charming in her slim-fitting gown of angel skin lace over parchment duchcsse satin, cut on princess lines, that fell away into a pointed train. It was gathered at the neck and buttoned with tiny buttons to the waist. The veil, beautifully embroidered with lilies, was held in place with a coronet of lace and pearls, with orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of Philippine lilies. Two bridesmaids escorted her up the aisle, Miss Stella Day (of Waiheke Island) and Miss Dene Stone. They wore flowing frocks of lavender and hydrangea pink taffeta, buttoned to the waist, with full puff sleeves, and on their heads were Juliet caps of violets. They carried shower bouquets of pink and mauve cactus dahlias and maidenhair fern.

The bridegroom was supported by Mr. Eric Coleman and the groomsman was Mr. Ken Macdonald.

A largely attended reception was held at "Beaconsfieid,'' O'Neill's Avenue, the rooms being decorated with dahlias in all colours.

| Mrs. Austen received her guests in a smart frock of black and gold lame and wore a small beaded to<jue with eye veil. She carried, a ibouquet of gold and ml dahlias and zinnias. Mrs. Finite wore a graceful gown of cloth of gold, with a large brown picture hat, and carried a bouquet of red and gold zinnias. A large marquee was erected on the lawn, the tables being decorated in lavender and pink, with vases of dahlias and Micihaelmas daisies. After the usual toasts were honoured, dancing to a delightful orchestra concluded, a happy function.
