PASCOE CUP.
An enthusiastic gallery of between 500 and 600 spectators saw an exciting struggle between the Farmers' Trading Co.. Ltd.. and Johns, Ltd., in the final of the Pascoc Cup. At one stage it looked as though it would end early with two straight set wins for Johns, Ltd. However, this was averted, and the contest eventually concluded near midnight with a win for Johns, Ltd.. by two matches to one. The second match produced the fireworks when Johns, Ltd.'s second pair were leading by one set and a—3 and 40 -15. However. Bowker and Column fought back to save these two match-points, and eventually went on to win the set at 9 -7 and the match at I—6. !>—7. 6—3. This necessitated a further match in which A. S. Burns and V. R. Johns met G. Allen and W. Bowker and emerged the winners in a three-set match by 4—6, 6—3, 6—4.
