TWENTY-FIRST ANNIVERSARY.
St. Cuthbert's Old Girls Celebrate. The celebrations to mark the twenty - first anniversary of St. Cuthbert's Old Girls' Association commenced to-day when an afternoon garden party was held in the college grounds. The guests at this function were received by Miss L. Clouston, principal of the college, Mi*s Gwen Hooper, president of the Old Girls' Association, Miss I. D. Gray and Miss K. Goulding. Guests of honour at the party were MissErson, president of the Mount Eden Collegiate Old (Jills' Association, Mrs. Colin Gordon-and Mrs. 1). I A. Henderson. During the afternoon the ' school swimming baths were open to the ! old girls and tennis matches were played. ! Following the garden party, the annual meeting of the old girls' association was held in the school hall. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as : follows: President, Mrs. C". H. Leighton; ; committee, Mesdames Phyllis Couldrey, j Margaret Mackenzie, Merta Vialoux. ■ Misses Gwen Hooper, Isobel Wells, Tory , Johnson, Ruth Owen, Peggy Hume, Den Taine, Katie Melville, Dorothy Badelev, | Mary Nicholson, Helen Wilson and Rom- I sey Weir. A presentation of a beautiful ! clock was made to the old girl's association by members of the Mount Eden College Old- Girls'- Asociation, and a president's chain in silver, complete with the old girls' badge and links engraved with the names of the past presidents •was presented to the association by Mrs. :11. R. A. Vialoux. Following the annual meeting, a birth-day-tea was held in the school dining hall, at which over two hundred old girls were present. A feature of the tea was the birthday cake made and ieed by Mrs. -M. Day. The cake was decorated with the school motto, "By Love, Serve," and was ornamented with twenty-one candles. These candles were lit by- Miss Clouston, the past presidents, Miss Beryl Knight, Mrs. Merta Vialoux, Miss Kathleen Stevenson, Miss Tory Johnson, Mrs. Pearl Moore, Mrs. Phyllis Couldrey, Miss Gwen Hooper; past secretaries, Miss Olive Lloyd, Mrs. Ena Osborne-Lily, Miss Nancy Wliitelaw, Miss Isobel Wells, Miss Ruth Owen, Miss Linda de Benzy; the head prefect, Miss Isoibel Henderson; past head prefects. Miss Nancy Anderson and Miss Margaret Sliaw; Mt. Eden College Old Girls, Mrs. Colini Gordon, Mrs. D. A. Henderson and Miss Erson. Reminiscences of old school days and events in the history of the Old Girls' Association were given by Miss Gladys Erson, president of the Mount Eden Collegiate- Old Girls' Association, and Mrs. J. M. Stevenson, member of the St. iCuthbert's Old Girls' Association. & This evening a play will be presented 'In the college hall by the senior pupils of the school. Those taking part will include*: Isobel Henderson, Elsie Bryant, Peggy Moodier Beverly Whyte, Marjorie I Millar, Joan Paterson, Pat Taylor, Betty 1 Goulding, Gwen Martyn, June Howie, Margaret Grice, Hazel Winstone and Helen Lyness. The committee responsible for the arrangements of the celebrations comprised: Mesdames Phyllis Couldrey, Bettie Le Quesne, Kathleen Stevenson, Maida Ledghton, Merta Vialoux, Margaret Mackenzie, Cathie Somerville, Ena Osborne-Lily, Effie McLeod, Pearl Moore, Misses L. Clouston, K. Goulding, I. D. Gray, Gwesn Hooper, Ruth Owen, Tory Johnson, Isobel Wells, Peggy Hume, Helen Bowes, Helen Wilson, Faye Pascoe, Betty Richwhite,. Beryl Knight, Nancy Anderson, Joyce Neumagen, Shirley Watkins, Mary Nicholdson, Katie Melville, also Mrs. D. A. Henderson, Mrs. Colin Gordon and Miss Gladys Ergon, of the Mount Eden Collegiate School.
