TE AWAMUTU SCHEME. SATTSFACTORY TF.XDF.RS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TK AWAMUTU, Thursday. Telegraphic adviee has been received in Te Awamutu that Mr. -T. A. Lee. Parliamentary Under-Secretary in charge of housing, ha* now received satisfactory tenders for the erection of several houses in Te Awauiutu. on property recently acquired. Tender* were invited about two months ago. but till tender* were rejected a* being considerably beyond what I the Department considered leasonable. i The Department then negotiated with an | Auckland firm, and it is presumed that the latest announcement refers to tender* from that firm. Mr. Lee states | that these tenders have Ijeeu referred to i Cabinet, and as soon as approval is oh- | rained work will be got under way with I the first instalment of the biiildina scheme for Te Awamutu.
