THE GAMING ACT.
TOTALISATOR PERMITS. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") DUXEDIX, Thursday. The president of the Forburv Park Trotting Club, Mr. B. S. Irwin, at a meeting of the club's committee to-night, said that a deputation from the Trotting Conference which had waited on the Prime Minister. Mr. Savage, last year to discuss additional totalizator permits, had been informed by Mr. Savage that he would not touch the Gaming Act until a. Royal Com mission to be set up had dealt with racing and trotting from all angles and submitted its report. The Prime Minister had also said that the commission would be set up at once, but so far. Mr. Irwin added, he had heard nothing more of the matter.
