YOUNG GIRL RETURNS.

MISSING FOR TWENTY HOURS. (From Our Correspondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH,* Thursday. After beinsr missing from her home on a farm at Okoke for 20 hours a young girl returned to-day tmharmed. ! Apparently she had not been far from | the farm, although an extensive search I was made all night. The piii. Patricia Blciinerhassett, the 12.1-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isl en nerhassett. of Okoke Koad, Urenui, left her home on an errand to a neighbouring farm carrying a parcel from her mother and accompanied bv a fov terrier dog. The farm to which she was going was only a quarter of a mile away and when the girl had not returned an hour later her mother became c cerned. Inquiries at the neighbour's house revealed that the girl had not arrived there and fears were felt for her ! safety. A fruitless search was mad» j and police assistance was then sought. I Constable Lemm, of Waitara, went to the farm and organised an intensive , search in which a large number of ' neighbours participated, but in spite of I their efforts throughout the night no trace was found of the girL Detective j Sergeant Jarrold. of Xew Plymouth, then joined in the search, which was continued with renewed energy this morning, and for several hours it was as fruitless as that of the flight before.
