"IT'S ALL YOURS." EMBASSY. Linda Uray Madeleine Carroll Jimmy Barnes Francis Lederer Baruii de Alontigny Mlsclia Auer Constance Marlowe .... Grace Bradley City Clerk Victor Kiliau License Clerk George McKay Director: Elliott Nugent. Columbia. A bright and entertaining comedy, with consistently humorous action and sparkling with vivacious dialogue, "It's All Yours" fulfilled all the expectation of patrons at the Embassy Theatre last night by its magnetic appeal, rippling episodes and general charm, combined with the intriguing by-play illustrating the way of a maid with a man. It is one of the most attractive of the sophisticated modern comedies which have come this way in recent years, and completes a highly enjoyable general programme right up to Embassy standard. "It's All Yours" features Madeleine Carroll, Francis Lederer and Mischa Alter in the leading roles, with Alter stealing the limelight by the perfection of his acting us a gay and gallant adventurer in the love market. With debonair audacity lie admits to his victims that love without loot has no' attraction for him, and proceeds to charm away tlte sting by the fascination and delicacy of his technique in paying court. Chased off the field by an infuriated bull and, incidentally, betrayed into a "duckiug" by a mis-step in the flight over a stream, he yet retains his mental poise to yield the honours with a graceful philosophic shrug: forced to distasteful physical combat by the champion of his lovely victim he lays the hero low with a black eye and a "wicked right," and murmurs distressed apology for having neglected to mention beforehand that lie had been French light-heavy boxing champion— amateur, of course." True to his code that the perfect gentleman held it unfair to pursue a maid without money, and must also remain the perfect gentleman when be p.ot tlie maid and the money as a sitting shot, he invested a sordid role with subtle romantic charm and a wealth of attractive humour. Francis Lederer provided an effective foil as a beloved blunderer, and Madeleine Carroll's charm and personality has rarely been more strongly in evidence than it appears in this role of playing with fire. The distinction of the acting and the charming delicacy of much of the humour makes 'Tt's All Yours" a highly diverting entertainment. A wide net is cast to provide an interesting series of support items for the main feature of the programme. Ceremonial aspects of the Canadian arid Albanian Parliaments, significant Lotted States navy episodes, conservation of American wild life and outstanding sports personalities figure in the news section, as well as some phases of the suggested Japanese trade boycott. "Fun in the Water" provides an informative slant on various international water sports, a Charlie Chase comedy introduces an enjovable farcical ncte. and "Birds in Love" effectively combines colour and comedy.
