The driver of the car, Mr. Horace Harnell. who resides with Mr. Hynes, suffered slight head injuries, but after treatment was able to go home. CYCLIST INJURED. When he fell off a bicycle after colliding with a verandah pole at the corner of Dominion and Ewington Roads on Saturday evening, Mr. Alister McDonald Brown, of 46, Princes Avenue, Mount Roskill, suffered concussion, abrasions and a dislocated right thumb. He was taken by a St. John ambulance to the Auckland Hospital, where he was reported to be progressing favourably this morning. MOTOR CYCLIST'S FALL.. Severe head injuries were suffered by a motor cyclist, Mr. Charles Thompson, on Saturday, when he fell from his macjiine on Mount Cahill, states a Press Association message from Dunedin. The injured man, who lives at 24, Embo j Street, Kew, is in the Dunedin Hospital. His condition is fair. CAR PLUNGES INTO CREEK. A 12-year-old boy, Osmond Mulhol- > land, received minor chest injuries late yesterday afternoon when a new car 1 driven by his father, Mr. Henry Mulholland, of Paerata, failed to negotiate a bend on the Paerata-Pukekohe Road and plunged into the Paerata Creek. Mr. Mulholland, who escaped witli minor abrasions and a shaking, had only purchased the tar that day and was driving from Paerata to Pukekohe when the accident occurred. The car failed to complete a fairly sharp curve, and, missing the bridge, plunged into the creek about 10ft below. ROTORUA YOUTHS HURT. Two Rotorua youths, both aged about 20 years, were hurt when the motor cycle they were riding collided with a motor van outside the entrance to the Government gardens. Pierre Vaughan was admitted to the Rotorua Hospital suffering from concussion and leg injuries, and Alfred Ralph with a dislocated ankle and abrasions, is also an inmate. The cycle- was thrown across to the edge of the Town Square, but was not greatly damaged. RIDING MISHAP. . While schooling a horse for the Clevedon show,, which is to take place next Saturday, Mr. W. W. Ounson, a son of Sir James and Lady Ounson, of Manurewa, was thrown and suffered a fracture of one shoulder. The horse, striking a hurdle, fell on its rider. After being ( attended by Dr. G. W. Locke, of Papakura, Mr. Gunson was taken by a St. John ambulance to a private hospital. . His condition is not serious. INJURED MAN'S CONDITION. The condition of Mr. Harold Victor Griffiths, aged 30, of Te Hana, farm labourer, who was admitted to the ; Auckland hospital on Saturday suffering from concussion, severe shock and a severely lacerated leg after an accident in which his car was damaged almost beyond repair in Warkworth on Friday, had improved this morning.
